For use with Thunderbird, this extension requires the installation of the Lightning calendar extension, available from: https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/addon/2313
This extension adds "vCalendar (*.vcs)" to the import and export dialogs of Thunderbird with Lightning and Sunbird which will export a selected calendar to a file in the vCalendar format, suitable for reading by many mobile devices.
Version 0.6.2 is now available from http://vcssupport.blogspot.com/ or by logging into this site.
